Pickerington

 

Located in both Fairfield and Franklin counties and part of the Columbus Metro area. It covers quite a bit of land is and is found just southeast of downtown between Interstate 70 and Highway 33. Pickerington has been around since 1815 and was originally known as Jacksonville, named after Andrew Jackson until 1827 when local citizens petitioned the state to change the name to Pickerington in honor of its founder, Abraham Pickering.

There are a total of about 606 teachers, 79% of them offering master's degrees with a high number of parents and students approving of classroom teachers educating students and increasing the quality of education being offered. In fact, 82% of Pickerington residents feel that the district is doing an excellent job of offering classroom technology, offering taxpayers good value for their investment, and offering challenging course options for students.

 

Set just outside of Columbus, you're no more than about 20 minutes to downtown yet you don't have to go into Columbus to enjoy a wealth of activities and amenities. Pickerington has its own community theater, several fantastic breweries and taproom such as Combustion. Of course, there's the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, several local parks with playground equipment and trails, health and well centers, clinics, salons, markets, restaurants and more.
